A review and book summary, part of our Book Club.
Why some people succeed and others do not.
Tip 1
Attitude is your window to the world and everyone starts with the clear window. We cannot control circumstances but we can control our attitude and thoughts. Clear your mental window.
Kids love to play and learn new things. Kids learn to walk, they keep going with a positive mental attitude until they can!
Things happen in life that make our window dirty, rather than cleaning it people go through life with a dirty window therefore people have a window of optimism or pessimism. You choose!
Tip 2
Make thinking positively a habit. Some tips are to become aware of what you say to yourself. Thick about whether it is positive and motivating or negative and limiting?
Ways to develop a positive midset is to read and listen to positive books and articles.
Tip 3
Picture your success and visualise. This is important and needs a separate post to discuss this.
Tip 4
Turn problems into opportunities – From a problem look at the opportunity that comes come from it
Tip 5
Your words affect your attitude –
Thoughts > Words > Beliefs > Actions > Results
Say you have a thought, you talk about it with friends and colleagues, it becomes a belief, your actions respond to your belief as do your results. Things that can help, positive self talk and only sharing your thoughts with supportive people.
Tip 6
Surround yourself with positive and supportive people that nourish you and help you be better.
Tip 7
Face your fears – Leave your comfort zone with a can do attitude – take small steps each day to overcome any fear you may have.
Tip 8
Never give up – Like learning to walk, toddlers keep going until they can do it. Same with riding a bike once you’ve got it, you’ve got it. There are lots more points in this book and it really is motivating and inspiring. The book is split into separate easy to digest chapters and explained in a straight forward an understandable way.
