I ordered this book in December as I really want to learn more about nature as well as create talking points with my kids.
My thoughts were, with the book being from National Trust and divided into months, I’m sure it will be good.
It had been sat for awhile until a few weeks ago when I started reading it and it really didn’t disappoint. It’s full of information in bite-size readable chunks with loads of tips for the month.
We’ve just gone into February and there is some overlap of activities etc. Activities listed in January that can be done in February. Will also be interesting to see the changes in months as written and when they actually happen.
For example, there is “Can you Spot” section for January and included are Snowdrops and daffodils. We have definitely seen some snowdrops and just spotted some daffodils
and will keep any eye out for them into February and March.
I’m really looking forward to sharing this book with the girls. They are at an age where they are reading comfortably, and I am trying to get them to read different things to just their reading books such as fact books, pamphlets, signs etc. So with this book they are already telling me facts and have started to point out things that they find interesting too.
I will be taking this book with us on walks and use it as a guide on the different seasons.
Highly recommend it if you are looking for tips on different seasons and things to look out for in the year.
